In *Star-Shattering Course*, bricks are arranged to form a winding path resembling a flight corridor. The ball must ricochet along this “course,” shattering every brick in sequence to clear the level. There are three types of bricks: standard, metal (requiring three hits), and explosive (which destroy the eight surrounding cells upon impact).
The 1,500 levels feature a vast array of course shapes, including spirals, zigzags, and loops. The first 300 levels offer wider paths, making shots easier; levels 300–800 feature narrower paths flanked by “rebound walls”—if a shot goes astray, the ball bounces back near the starting point, forcing a restart. Levels 800–1,500 introduce “moving courses,” where the entire brick formation shifts horizontally or vertically.
Each level includes a “Perfect Clear” challenge: destroying all bricks without using any power-ups. Success earns a “Stardust” unit; collecting ten unlocks a special skin for the launch paddle, though this does not affect gameplay performance. The game encourages experimenting with different angles, as a single brick formation may offer multiple paths to victory. Across 1,500 levels, every shot is an adventure along the course.
